Exterior Sunscreens

CoachShades creates and installs exterior RV sunscreens. That’s the most effective way to control the sun’s heat – before it enters your windows.  Sunscreens also provide daytime privacy and protect your interior fabrics from ultraviolet (UV) damage.

Our sunscreens are custom fitted to your coach with all construction and installation done on-site.  That means, we have to physically be in the same location as your RV to do our job.  We do not offer a mail order sunscreen product nor use "gimmicks" like velcro to continually adjust the fit.  If a sunscreen is correctly fitted initially, on-going adjustment is not necessary.  In our opinion, mail order and ready-made shades never fit as well -- or look as good on your RV -- as a sunscreen that is stretched and fitted to your exact windows. 

Because we use the highest quality materials from well-known manufacturers, our sunscreens last indefinitely. Our primary fabric is  Phifer SunTex®, a durable, vinyl-coated polyester fabric that offers excellent outward visibility and blocks approximately 90% of the sun’s heat.  While there are fabrics that claim to block more heat (up to 98%), they significantly reduce outward visibility and make your RV dark inside. 

Each sunscreen attaches to your RV with stainless steel snaps and aluminum pop rivets. Although few of our competitors use materials of this quality, to us it means you should never have a problem with snaps that won't work properly.

To finish each sunscreen, we use Sunbrella® binding, the fabric used in most top quality RV awnings.  It's made to withstand sun, wind and rain and looks like new for years.
